Brighton Valiants Badminton Club was created by a group of friends who had been playing together every Tuesday for several years. In 2019 we decided the time was right to play competitive league badminton, so we founded a new Brighton Badminton Club. We named the club Brighton Valiants because we live and play badminton in the Brighton area and we never give up, just like our dedicated co-founder Val, hence the name Valiants, Brighton Valiants! We welcome intermediate and advanced players to join us and can offer competitive matches at league and county level.

Welcome to Sussex Spartans Badminton Club, Brighton’s newest intermediate badminton club, created by a group of friends who had been playing badminton together for over a decade. Having played for several clubs over the years we have recently decided to start a club in Brighton and Hove that’s small and maintains a consistent level of intermediate badminton on our club session, ensuring every game is competitive and strong.

We have regular coaching as a group and are always looking to improve our technique and game play in order to compete well against each other and at league and county masters level. We have entered a team into the Brighton Division 1 Men’s Combi league and another into the Mid Sussex Men’s League for the 2024/25 season. Match nights will be Thursdays at Moulescoomb Leisure Centre.

We currently have 34 members and 12 match players and are always looking for a small number of intermediate players to join us, those who are willing to continually improve their technique and gameplay.

The Tornados were established primarily as a club for young players who are new to badminton and who were taught the game by our experienced coach, Wendy Adams. Over the years, many of those players have stayed with the club and we now have a healthy blend of both adults and juniors with many of our adults assisting in the development of our younger players. The club has gone from strength to strength and has enjoyed great success with the MSDBA.
